Time

Time marches on. Its been some time since my last post. Life has been pretty hectic. Work is getting in the way of living. I've of course done everything I said I wasn't going to do, that is, let work get in the way of my life.

Its just that my new project is so intensive and there are so many variables. Plus I'm away next week for 2 back-to-back conferences in Vegas and Quebec City. Missing 2 weekends at home, especially when one of them is a long weekend is tough.

I will be more diligent in posting.

Living by the Airport...

So, I'm having lunch with a friend of mine on Friday and we were discussing the birthday party she was going to on Friday night. It was to be in Malton, that lovely city by the airport. Her husband, being the uppercrust socialite that he is was horrified and said, "Why don't you go with the kids honey?" Needless to say, she dragged the whole family to the party...riot, I would do the same.

So, without further ado, my top ten reasons to live in Malton...

10. The unmistakable smell of curry as you turn down the street and head to your lovely home

9. Food of course would be made by the dozens of relatives from the 'old country' who all of a sudden show up to live with you

8. Starbucks? We have a flea market on every corner.

7. You walk down the street and your neighbours start speaking in some language rapidly and laugh. When you try to laugh with them and ask "What's so funny?" The only one who can speak english says, nothing and they all look away.

6. The policeman at your door, for the tenth time, has to tell you, "No sir, that sound your heard was not the torturing of cats but a very popular Hindu song."

5. You can leave your Christmas lights up all year (especially the icicle lights).

4. You no longer have to take your old car to the scrap yard, just leave it on your driveway on blocks.

3. Your house getting too small for all that furniture? No problem, just leave the old stuff lying around the yard.

2. Who needs to paint aluminum siding?

1. Vegetable/flower garden on the front lawn = classy
